PRIVACY POLICY

EFFECTIVE July 28, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how the Charter Arms Revolver Catalog ("the Site") collects, uses, retains, and protects visitor information. We respect your privacy and collect only the minimum information required to operate this informational catalog and meet our legal obligations under federal and Connecticut state law.

2. Information We Collect

Information you submit directly: When you use our Contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message body you provide, plus the IP address of your submission. This information is stored in our internal database and used solely to respond to your inquiry.

Information collected automatically: We record anonymous, aggregated analytics events (page views and outbound affiliate clicks) so we can measure which products and retailers receive attention. These events do not include your name, email, or any other personally identifying information individually reported.

3. Age-Verification Cookie & Browser Storage

Because federal law (18 U.S.C. § 922(b)(1)) prohibits transferring handguns to anyone under 21, the Site displays an age gate on first visit. When you confirm you are 21 or older, that confirmation is stored as a cookie and as a browser-storage entry (localStorage / sessionStorage) on your device. The stored value is an expiry timestamp that automatically becomes invalid after 30 days, at which point you will be asked to re-confirm. This storage is set only on your own device; it is never transmitted to, sold to, or shared with any third party.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to messages submitted through our Contact form;
  • Remember, for up to 30 days, that you have confirmed you are 21 years of age or older;
  • Measure aggregated page-view and affiliate-click activity to improve the catalog;
  • Comply with applicable federal and state record-keeping requirements.

5. What We Do Not Do

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information with any third party. We do not use your data for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not share contact-form submissions with any retailer, dealer, or marketing platform.

6. Third-Party Dealers & Affiliate Links

This Site contains links to licensed FFL dealers and external marketplaces. Once you click an outbound affiliate or "Buy Now" link, you are on a third-party website governed by its own privacy policy and terms. Charter Arms is not responsible for the data practices of any external site and encourages you to review the privacy policy of each dealer before submitting any personal information.

7. Data Retention

Contact-form submissions are retained only for as long as required to respond to the inquiry and for the reasonable administrative period required by law, after which they are deleted. Anonymous analytics events are retained in aggregate form for catalog-improvement reporting. Browser-stored age-verification entries expire automatically after 30 days.

8. Your Privacy Rights (Connecticut)

Connecticut residents have specific rights under the Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA), including the right to:

  • Know what personal data we hold about you and request access to it;
  • Correct inaccurate personal data;
  • Request deletion of your personal data;
  • Opt out of any processing for which the law grants a right to opt out;
  • Appeal a decision we make about your request.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our Contact page. We will verify your identity before responding and will respond within the timeframe required by Connecticut law.

9. Children's Privacy

This Site is restricted to individuals who are at least 21 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any information from visitors under 21 or from anyone not lawfully permitted to view handgun-related content. If you believe a minor has submitted information through the Site, please contact us so we can promptly delete that information.

10. Security

We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect submitted information against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When material changes are made, the "Effective Date" above will be revised and the updated policy becomes effective on the date posted. Your continued use of the Site after any change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.

12. Contact

Questions or privacy requests may be submitted through our Contact page. You may also write to Charter Arms Manufacturing directly with the subject "Privacy Request."
